The lauburu (in Spanish "four heads") is the name that receives in basque cross swastika arm curvilinear. This symbol is also found very frequently among the artistic representations of certain european peoples, such as celts and germans, as well as in drawings and carvings visigothic. Also, they can be lauburus recorded in granaries asturians and galicians (as, for example, in Grullos, Quirós and Piornedo), being referred to in this case simply "tetrasqueles". They have also been used swastikas curvílineas of four or more arms in Aragon, where they are known in some villages in the pyrenees as cuatrefuellas or "religadas" (this last name regardless of the number of arms). It is currently one of the most iconic symbols and recognizable of the basque culture, although traditionally it has never been used, for example, in shields or flags of any territory belonging to the modern provinces of Vizcaya, Guipúzcoa, Álava and the northwest of Navarra, in the north of Spain.
